J. & E. Stevens produced this owl mechanical bank, the patent issued September 21 & 28, 1880. When a rear lever is depressed, the owl's head turns to expose the coin drop. Note the owl's piercing yellow eyes. Such pieces with yellow eyes are more valued than later examples with brown eyes. This piece is in excellent original condition with all original paint. Measures 7-1/2" x 3-3/4" x 3. All original paint. No cracks or repairs.
