Allen & Wheelock Sidehammer Pocket Revolver

This Allen & Wheelock sidehammer is a 28 caliber, 5-shot revolver with a 3” octagonal barrel. Barrel marking reads, “ALLEN & WHEELOCK WORCESTER, MASS. ALLEN’S PT’S. JAN. 13, DEC. 15, 1857. SEPT.” Serial number 743 throughout. Engraved forest scene on cylinder is highly visible with a lot of definition. Cylinder pin screws into place from behind the hammer. Excellent walnut grips. Nice patina. Crisp action functions well.
