Allen & Wheelock Center Hammer Navy Revolver

This Allen & Wheelock center hammer is a 36 caliber revolver with a 6-shot cylinder and a 4.5" octagonal barrel. About 500 were manufactured in 1861 and 1862. Barrel marking reads, "ALLEN & WHEELOCK WORCESTER, MASS. U.S. ALLEN'S PT'S JAN. 13, DEC. 15, 1857, SEPT. 7, 1858." Excellent walnut grips. Nice patina. Mechanically, very solid and crisp. Nice action.
